Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Studio by Scientist ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the App on behalf of a church, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Studio by Scientist is a church presentation software application that provides:

  • Bible verse display and search
  • Song lyrics management and display
  • Service schedule management
  • AI-powered sermon assistance and live voice detection
  • Media presentation tools for church services

3. Accounts and Registration

3.1 You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3.2 You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3.3 You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

3.4 You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3.5 We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Free Tier. Studio by Scientist offers a free tier with limited features as described on our pricing page.

4.2 Paid Subscription. Premium features require a paid subscription. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and may change with 30 days notice.

4.3 Billing. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except as required by law or as described in Section 4.5.

4.4 Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

4.5 Refunds. We offer a 14-day refund for first-time subscribers who are not satisfied with the App. Contact support@studiobyscientist.com within 14 days of your first charge.

4.6 Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any purpose other than church or ministry presentation
  • Share your account credentials with others outside your organization
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or distribute the App
  • Copy, scrape, or extract the App's code, data, text, prompts, or content by automated or other means
  • Use the App, its non-public features, designs, prompts, or outputs, or any information you learn through using it, to build, train, or improve a competing product or service
  • Use the App to display content that is illegal, hateful, or harmful
  • Circumvent any usage limits or access controls
  • Use the AI features to generate content that misrepresents scripture

6. Content and Data

6.1 Your Content. You retain ownership of all content you upload to the App (songs, backgrounds, schedules, etc.).

6.2 License to Us. By uploading content, you grant Studio by Scientist a limited license to store and display that content solely to provide the service to you.

6.3 AI-Generated Content. Content generated by AI features (sermon notes, scripture suggestions, transcripts) is provided for assistance only. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of all AI-generated content before displaying it in a service.

6.4 Bible Content. The King James Version (KJV) Bible used in the App is in the public domain. Other translations may be subject to copyright and are provided through licensed third-party services.

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

  • Supabase (data storage)
  • OpenAI (live transcription and AI detection)
  • Anthropic (AI sermon assistance)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Bible content providers (scripture data)

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the actions or content of these third parties.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Studio by Scientist and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Scientist AI and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our express written permission.

8.3 Confidential information. Non-public features, designs, prompts, pricing, and performance information that we share with you, including in demonstrations, trials, or beta access, are confidential. You may not disclose them or use them to develop a competing product or service.

8.4 Remedies. A breach of this Section 8 or of Section 5 may cause us harm that money cannot fully repair, so in addition to other remedies we may ask a court to order you to stop.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. AI FEATURES MAY MISHEAR OR MISIDENTIFY SCRIPTURE. USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STUDIO BY SCIENTIST SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR SERVICE INTERRUPTION, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Studio by Scientist, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Harris County, Texas.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
